Map
- The map shows New England county overlays (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, VT). Tracked stations appear as markers when they have beaconed within the selected time range.
- Click a station marker to load its breadcrumb trail (one dot per de-duplicated position) for the same time range.
- Click a county to see its name and code.
- Press Esc to clear breadcrumbs and re-fit to the region.
Simple view
- /follow is a stripped-down map for following one station — no county overlays, no contest chips, no time controls.
- It opens on the NZ1U group. Use change to type any callsign; the link (
/follow/W1ABC) is shareable.
- The trail shows the last two trips, back up to two days. Stopping for more than two hours ends a trip, so an overnight stay draws yesterday's drive and today's as separate lines, the older one faded. Each dot is one beacon — click it for the time, county, grid and speed at that moment. A station that has not beaconed recently still shows its last known position, labelled with how long ago it was heard.
- Below the map, Where we've been lists the counties the station has passed through, newest first, with the nearest town where it is known. A divider marks where one trip ended and the next began.
- The map keeps the station centred at whatever zoom you choose, and remembers that zoom next time. Dragging the map pauses the centring for about a minute, then it resumes on its own.
- Typing a callsign the tracker has never subscribed to asks the APRS-IS daemon to start listening for it; beacons usually appear within a minute or two.
Time range
- The default window is the last 2 hours.
- Use the preset buttons (2h / 6h / 24h / 7d / 30d) for quick spans, or set explicit From and To times for historical browsing. Click Live to return to the rolling default window.
- The current selection is reflected in the URL — share the link to share the view.
For tracked operators
- Beacon position with any APRS client (APRSdroid, APRS TX, hardware tracker, etc.). Comment content is shown in the table and the popup but is not required.
- You will only appear here if your callsign matches the tracker's configured allowlist (server-side APRS-IS budlist filter).
